Natalia & Matthew
It was only when she awakened to the power of persona that she was moved from the regular dorms, into an off campus one. She stared up at the shabby building with some doubt. It looked a little shady, but she had been informed that she would have her own room at the very least. A nice, sizable room. One where she could be alone, without a roommate who cowered all night long. Yes, it sounded nice…but if it was falling apart, would it be worth it?
She breathed out a small sigh, her expression unreadable as she picked up her bags and entered the new dorm. Violet eyes glanced around the common room in vague interest. The inside at least looked a bit better than the outside. Perhaps she would be able to live with this after all…She just hoped that the longer walk to school wouldn’t prove tedious. She wanted to see her brother in the mornings after all. But she would not fret. Even if she had to wake up a little earlier than normal, she would make the arrangements to do so.
Heaving out another sigh, she looked around with a bored expression. She was told someone would be waiting for her to come to help her get settled, but she did not see anyone. Was anyone here even? It was a Saturday, so perhaps she had missed them. Just her luck if the person had ditched her here. She really wanted to hide in her room and get settled. If she waited for people to return, that would require a bit more socialization than she would like.
Clearing her throat, she decided to go another route. “Excuse me.” She called out, hoping that someone would appear and answer. “I need some help.” But of course, if no one answered…she could always leave and come back. Her brother might be out playing some sports. She could sit in the stands and cheer for him.

It wasn't unusual for Matthew to be up in the morning. He'd often wake up just a little earlier so that everyone would have the hearty breakfast to start their day. The dorm never knew when the Shadows would strike, and in the short while that Matthew had become one of the team, he knew it was important that everyone be in tip-top shape.
But, that wasn'tt he only reason for cooking a good breakfast. Far from it, infact.
Someone with the 'potential' was discovered recently, and Matt wanted to give this new team member the best welcome he could muster.
Pancakes? Check. Bacon? Check. Eggs? ...well, okay, there weren't any eggs.
Eggs
And of course: Maple Syurp!
Matthew had taken great care to hide it from Maria, who also shared his addiction for the liquid substance. It was often a tug-of-war between the two to keep the syrup in stock within the dorm. So, while Matthew had a great addiction to it, he'd hide it away.
"Excuse me.” Matthew looked up from the frying pan. He was sure he heard a voice.
“I need some help.”
Here already?! No, I haven't finished yet. Matthew looked around nervously before putting down the spatula.
Slowly, Matt walked towards the lobby from the kitchen.
"Y-yes?" he said timidly, "a-are you the newest arrival?"

Natalia waited for her words to be heard, frowning ever so slightly when no one answered right away. She was a little impatient at times, but she stood her ground in hopes that they might be coming out of their room or something. One thing she did take note of, was the scent of food cooking…so someone was definitely here at the very least.
Should she go and see if they could help her? It seemed like a pain, especially since she was told they would greet HER and not vice versa. But she was starting to realize that living here would require sacrifices of some sort. While she might have her own room, the realization that she would have to socialize with a large group due to having the ‘potential’ was a little unnerving. She was going to do her best to avoid group confrontations at all costs.
She did not even notice the Canadian come out, nor did she even hear his words. She had been much too deep in thought to see someone whose presence was so weak. It was only when she realized that something was blocking the light that she blinked and looked up a little startled. He had come out of nowhere! Reflex caused the woman to hitch up her skirt and pull a knife on the poor unsuspecting boy.
Glaring at him, she held the knife at him threateningly. She did not like to be startled…even though she realized, he probably had not meant to scare her. “Who are you?” She snapped, eyes wild and unpredictable. She was truly a fierce woman, but she was doing her best to calm her emotions to hear him out. After all, this was probably the person who was waiting on her.

What is she doing?
Watching was all Matthew could do. It just seemed like this girl didn't notice he was there. Despite being quite literally in front of her.
Story of my life... the Canadian thought to himself. Though, he never really minded. This little trait often helped when he wanted to slip by unnoticed. He just couldn't understand why things were the way they were.
Dwelling on it never did any good.
He stood there for a moment studying the woman. She had long silky hair and pretty features; he'd actually go as for as to say she was quite beautiful.
The saying goes: Every rose has it's thorn, though. And it seemed like this girl had some pretty sharp ones.
Before he could even bat an eyelash, he was met face to face with a blade.
“Who are you?”
His heart was practically beating out of his chest and he did the first thing that came to mind: Placed his hands up in the air.
"I-I-I'm sorry! I didn't mean to startle you!" he stammered out at her, holding his hands higher.

Natalia continued to watch him through narrowed and suspicious eyes, her knife slowly but surely lowering when he threw up his hands and started stammering. She almost felt bad now, as though she was threatening a harmless rabbit. This guy was strange, she could tell that much. She hadn’t even noticed him approach. That was a trait she would have to look out for! She didn’t want anyone to get the jump on her.
Finally, the Belarusian returned the knife to it’s rightful home. She didn’t appear to want to part with it quite yet, but she did not feel as though this boy was worth the worry over. He looked like a push over.
“…It is fine.” She made no attempts to apologize for her own behavior, stuck in the thought that it was his own fault for startling her. “Are you the one who was waiting for me?” She finally inquires, eager to get this interaction done and over with so she could be on her way to doing more important things.

As soon as the girl lowered her weapon, Matthew felt a little more at ease (though still wary.) If she could pull a knife that quickly from being startled, then what could she do when she was completely alert?
...
Matthew decided that he did not want to find that out. He would have to stay on his toes around her, he thought. But, of course this was probably just a misunderstanding and she was actually a really sweet girl.
He lowered his arms back to their rightful side and held out a hand to the newest dorm member; a friendly gesture accompanied by the best smile he could muster.
"I... I'm really sorry I startled you" he laughed a little nervously, "and y-yes, I'm Matthew Williams. And you are?"

Natalia stared at him a bit longer, trying to understand his action. Why was he holding out his hand? This guy made no sense. She wasn’t going to give him any money! She all ready paid for the dorm. So instead she just glowered at him, her gaze like knives.
She crossed her arms to show she had no intention of handing anything over and listened to what he had to say with some suspicion. “Natalia Arlovskaya. Just Natalia. If you even think of calling me anything like Nat or Nattie I will break your fingers in a most painful way, got it?!”
Now that she had successfully threatened him, she felt a little better. Maybe now he would think twice about trying to cheat her out of money or anything else. She was not one to mess with!

Matthew continued to hold his hand out, his smile starting to fade slightly when the girl wouldn't take his hand. Had he done something wrong? This was not the reaction he had expected when the new student walked through the door.
Of course, he hadn't expected to get a knife to the face, either.
The Canadian lowered his hand under Natalia's gaze and began to sink a bit. She was actually quite intimidating. "O-okay, Natalia, I got it. I-It's nice to meet you." he said timidly.
Matthew quivered a bit as he was standing in front of the Belarussian. Suddenly feeling very uncomfortable in her presence. In the short minutes that he had with Natalia, Matthew knew that she was not joking about breaking his fingers. That thought alone was enough to scare him.
He shook his head a few times, trying to will away those thoughts.
She was a new student! Maybe she was just scared or intimidated by the new surroundings. He could only remember when he had come to the school and how frightened he had been.
While his thought process might have been completely off, Matthew still offered her a sympathetic smile. "A-anyway, I-I made some food for you in case you were hungry when you got here." he motioned his hand towards the kitchen, "..W-would you like some, N-Natalia?" [/blockquote]

Natalia was pleased when the other backed down and gave in. See? All some people needed was a stern no and they turned and fled with their tails between their legs. She tried not to appear too victorious when he lowered his hand and agreed to her demands. This threat would hopefully last the entire time she would know him.
Unfortunately, Mattie was wrong. Natalia was not intimidated; she was just simply…intimidating by nature. She was definitely beautiful, but rough around the edges. An unrefined diamond of a girl who didn’t let anyone get close enough to see her true heart. To everyone, she simply looked crazy when she chased after her sister with so much vigor. But if anyone knew the story as to why, they might understand. Not that Natalia wanted them to or anything. She hardly cared what they thought, so long as she had Ivanna.
She seemed to show a bit of interest when the boy mentioned having food. Her stomach gave a pathetic growl at her as if it needed a reminder that it had not digested anything today. In her eagerness to get to school and get all this social nonsense out of the way, she had forgotten to eat anything. “…What is it?”

Matthew just couldn't help it! He let out a small chuckle at her stomach growling before motioning to the kitchen. Stepping slightly to the side to let her through.
"P-pancakes and bacon. H-hope that's okay?" he offered Natalia.
While he might have been very off, Matthew continued to believe that she was just confused and frightened by her surroundings. The school wasn't small by any stretch of the imagination and the dorm was full of various people. None of them were bad, but they were odd in their own ways.
"O-of course, i-if you want something else I can m-make it for you?" he quickly added, "S-sorry, didn't think if y-you would actually like them or not."
Matthew was well aware that Natalia was not from the area, how could he be stupid to assume that the girl would like pancakes?
Everyone liked pancakes, right? [/blockquote]

Natalia glowered even more at his chuckles. Was he laughing at her now? The nerve of this kid! Did he think he was better than her or something? She was not happy with this boy by any means. So instead she huffed, and looked away when he spoke again.
“It’s fine!” She said at last, her patience on the verge of out right violence. New people always rattled her and made her wary, nervous and irritated at once. She never knew how to vent the emotions to be perfectly honest.
Her eyes snapped back to him when he started to talk again, narrowing slightly as he stammered and chattered on like a cornered rat. “I said, it’s fine.” She decided to brush passed him and towards the scent of food. She wasn’t sure what pancakes were, but she knew bacon. Bacon was delicious. She often had to make those cuts herself straight from the pig, so it was something she liked to eat regardless.

Matthew flinched for what was probably the third or fourth time during this conversation. He was most definitely not used to this and it was a little awkward for him. Should he let her be and show her around later? Or should he offer more help? Matthew just wasn't sure how to handle this situation.
Though, there was one thing for certain: For better or for worse, the Canadian was not going to forget Natalia any time soon.
When the Belorussian passed by him, he followed close behind, watching her slightly. "A-ah, would you l-like some tea?" he asked her timidly. Maybe she was thirsty too. It was quite a long trip to the dorm after all.
Yeah, he was running out of idea, "A-after y-you are done eating, I can show you t-to your dorm too, if you want." he offered, but quickly added on, "O-of course, if you want to go now, we can do that t-to!" [/blockquote]

Natalia toted her belongings along behind her, setting them down only once they reached the dining room. She turned her gaze behind her to the persistent tag-a-long and quirked a brow. Tea was not particularly her thing. She rather liked coffee, or even cocoa. She was not particularly in the mood for a caffeine rush though. “Cocoa.” She told him, more as a demand than asking. There had to be some in that kitchen somewhere.
She let him yammer on before she pulled out a chair and took a seat. Was he trying to get rid of her? While she liked the idea of retreating to her room, he had made promises of food and to be honest—She was starving. She would put up with him a while longer if only to fill her stomach.
“I want the food.” She assured him, looking down to a doll that was poking it’s head out of her bag. Oh, it had moved. She was sure that she had put that one in a different bag. How interesting.
