A small frown tugged at Maria's lips as she rolled around in her bed, trying to find a position that would allow her to slip into the land of sleep. Each time she shifted her body, something seemed to go wrong: a spring was poking her back uncomfortably; her pillows were in an awkward position that made her neck hurt; the blankets made her too warm and pushing them off made her too cold. The process went on for nearly half an hour before she sighed and pushed herself into a sitting position, giving up the hope of falling asleep anytime soon. It really wasn't going to happen. Pushing the covers back, the silverette crawled out of bed and shoved her feet into her slippers, fumbling around blindly for her Prussian Blue bathrobe. Slender fingers connected with soft fabric and the albino smiled, pulling the article on before tying it shut with the small fabric belt dangling at the waist. By the time she has dressed herself, her eyes had finally adjusted to the lack of lighting, making her journey around the room much easier. It only took her a few minutes to find what she was looking for, and once the item was in hand, she grabbed her keys from the desk and stepped silently out into the hall. A quick glance to the left and right assured Maria that no one else was awake and wondering the halls, sending a wave of relief over her. Clutching a thin black case to her chest, she quickly scurried down the hallway and paused at the staircase, straining her ears to see if she could hear any movement from the boy's floor below. When no sounds could be heard, the Prussian nodded to herself in approval and raced up the stairs, taking the steps two at a time, skipping the fourth floor completely and made her way to the roof. Much to her pleasure, it was completely empty, allowing her to walk toward the small bench on the far end, where she sat down. Setting the case beside her, Maria opened the top to reveal a glimmering and well-cared for flute, gently nestled in plush velvet which she removed and assembled with nimble hands. Her crimson gaze lingered on the instrument as different melodies drifted through her mind before she finally settled on one with a small node. She raised the instrument to her lips, inhaling slowly before positioning her fingers and straightening her position. After a moments pause to ensure there was no one, in fact, on the roof with her, she began to play.
