Just another ordinary day, seemed like nothing strange.
Matthew made his way into the bookstore, heading directly for his target: the magazine section.
Usually, he would come here with brother to look at the latest gaming magazines and see what was new. However, Alfred had seemed a bit tied up as of late. Matthew wasn't exactly sure why, but he had a hunch it had something to do with Arthur.
The thought of this made Matt smile slightly.
He picked up a magazine and quickly began to look over it, debating if it would be okay to maybe buy this one. While the Canadian always wanted to pay for these magazines, contributing to the makers in some way; his brother always said it was a waste of money, instead suggesting that they just read it in the store and leave before the shop-keep got angry and chased them out.
Matthew had to think of the term, but he remembered someone calling people like that 'manga cows; grazing in the isles'. Yet again, his own thought made himself smile.
...I-it wouldn't hurt to look before I buy though. [/blockquote]

He'd been waiting for this day for approximately two weeks and four days. As soon as he received the email, he'd been eagerly checking off each day from the calendar, waiting for this day to finally come. Finally, that day had come.
Arthur had cleared out his entire schedule for today. He'd finished all his homework the previous night, bookmarked and set aside his books, and even cleaned out his room, so he wouldn't be distracted by how cluttered it was. In short, he was completely and utterly prepared. He grabbed his wallet, his keys, and his cellphone, and had set out from the dorms, his mind focused on only one destination: the bookstore.
When he'd entered, he'd glanced around once, hands in his pockets as he casually walked by the British literature section. Upon seeing no one he knew, he casually walked in further. And further, and further, until he passed by the bright sign posted on the wall.
'Adult literature - 18+ Only.'
(It was funny; he'd bought these easily in the past, all with the aid of a fake ID. It was refreshing now to think that he was legally 18, and could use his real ID.)
He didn't even have to look around; he knew exactly what it was. With almost gleaming eyes, Arthur approached the magazine section. The new magazine was there, and the beautiful American model that had appeared only in the previews was finally on the cover. In addition to that, the words ‘two posters included’ were emblazoned on the front. If those two things weren’t enough to make him wait for it, to clear out his schedule and to go out and buy it, precious little was.
He didn’t notice the familiar Canadian in the gaming section.

Matthew was in the middle of reading about the latest Pokemon that were released. Thinking about how much the company seemed to be losing their touch on what made the beasts so charming back in their day. Sadly, he knew that Alfred and himself would get the opposing colors and play them just like they always did. And they would enjoy them, too.
That was...until he saw Arthur walk into the store out of the corner of his eye. Matthew instinctively put on a smile and had every mind to say hello to the Englishman. However, it seemed like he hadn't noticed him.
Quietly, he placed the magazine he had been reading back on the shelf. Walking towards were Arthur was to greet him.
....
He stopped dead in his tracks and ducked behind a bookshelf, his face a bright red. W-what was Arthur doing in THAT section? Matthew felt his face heat up; it was rude for him to pry into his personal life, but he knew that if he left now it would just bug him later.
The Canadian peered his face around the bookshelf slightly, watching him. [/blockquote]

Arthur didn't even hesitate before reaching for the magazine, excitement evident on his features as he quickly flipped through it. He never stopped to linger on a certain page, even though the temptation to do so was ridiculously strong. It wouldn't do to spoil himself so early, particularly when he wanted to go back to his room and savour every single page and detail.
As usual, though, he couldn't just stop there. His eyes wandered to another magazine, and then a movie, and even some novels. Arthur didn't notice Matthew, and just perused the entire section, unsurprisingly very critical of everything he picked up.
Good thing he didn't really have anything else to spend his money on.

Every time that Arthur threatened to get closer, Matthew would duck into a new section. Trying to avoid being seen by his friend. And every single time, his face would heat up in even more embarrassment.
When Arthur moved to the movie section, he moved to the magazine section. And really, Matthew had no intention of looking at any of the things there. But, his eyes sort of wandered around. He turned a slight shade of pink when he saw a few of the covers; shaking his head quickly and focusing on his 'target'.
Matthew didn't notice the shop-keeper looking at him with an unbelieving and somewhat disgusted stare. And just kept going on his business.
When he ducked onto the other part of the novel section, Matthew grew a bit curious. He picked up one of the books that had a rather colorful cover on it. They seemed rather innocent enough from their outward appearance.
But, as the saying goes: You can't judge a book by it's cover.
Matthew closed the book quickly, it making a small 'thud' noise, before placing it shakily back on the shelf. His face now a dark shade of red. And at that moment, he decided, it was probably not a good place to be.
His curiosity now sated for the time being, Matthew started to move away from the section; hoping that Arthur would not notice him.
However, fate liked to play cruel jokes on the boy. He stumbled and knocked over a small display of the new erotic novel that had just come out . Matthew muttered something under his breath before reaching down and starting to pick up the books. [/blockquote]

Arthur flinched in surprise at the sudden commotion not too far away from him. Out of curiosity, he put down the DVD he was holding (oh, what a nice arse the lad on the cover had), and peeked past the shelves to see what had happened.
He would've minded his own business to go back to browsing the DVDs, or even been a gentleman to help the poor boy that had knocked over a display of new books. But... well, there was one problem.
That boy was Matthew Williams.
At this point, Arthur didn't know whether to hide from the boy's view and hope that the Canadian didn't see him... or to be helpful and share a few suggestions with Matthew. As tempting as the latter option was, it was just far too embarrassing. So... he decided to do a slight variation of the first option. Sneaking around the shelf, Arthur stood on the very edge of the adult section, and called out, "Matthew...? Is that you?"
The magazine he'd come to the bookstore for was, unfortunately, still in his hands.

In the midst of grabbing up as many of the books as possible, Matthew failed to notice the movement of his friend. He had a rather large stack of the books in his arms now and was starting to put them back on the display. Somewhere in that mind wishing that Arthur hadn't hear----- "Matthew...? Is that you?"
Too late.
Matthew instantly dropped all the books back on the floor, his face full of embarrassment. He turned his head to look at Arthur briefly in shock. He looked at him for a good moment before suddenly stiffening, as if realizing his situation and returning back to the floor to collect the books. The Canadian knew it was rude not to say hello though.
Without looking up, he continued to gather all the books. "H-h-hey, Arthur." Matt said shakily. "H-how are y-you doing today? H..haha.."
He was so nervous, so embarrassed, and so ashamed. Knowing very well what it looked like he was doing, but it wasn't! Matthew couldn't tell Arthur that he was spying on him as being the reason and the blond was having difficulties thinking up excuses; too flustered to even form coherent thoughts
"D-didn't see you here, w-w-w-what a coincidence."
Matthew mentally beat himself up after that line. [/blockquote]

Arthur couldn't help but feel sorry for the Canadian boy. He was just oozing nervousness; perhaps it would've been better to just turn around and pretend he hadn't seen Matthew... oh, but really, what sort of gentleman and friend would he be, then? Matthew's nervousness clearly stemmed both from being caught in the adult section when he was just a bit underaged, and... well, probably not really knowing which magazine or movie to pick up.
Fortunately for him, Arthur Kirkland had superb taste.
"I'm doing fine, thank you," he replied smoothly, and bent down to help Matthew collect the books to return to the stand. As he picked one up, however, he looked at the cover, and chuckled before placing it where it belonged. "I don't think this one would really suit your tastes, Matthew... unless, of course, you like BDSM. If so, then I'd highly reccomend it; it's fascinating."
Not a single part of him thought that Matthew was here for any reason other than to purchase erotic magazines and novels... because really, this wasn't exactly the very edge of the adult section.

Drop.
The books he was collecting met the floor yet again.
Arthur, did NOT just say that to him. No, this was NOT happening. Matthew could feel his face heat up even more. If someone couldn't tell he was embarrassed earlier, now it was painfully clear. He stayed there and looked completely stunned at Arthur, his hands shaking slightly.
His mouth opened and closed a few times before he slapped himself in his face. That did the trick. Matthew gathered the rest of the books at a break-neck pace and place them on the display.
After the fact, he took a few breaths. It felt like he had just run a marathon or something. And before long, he turned his face to Arthur his eyes downcast to the floor.
"Th-that really isn't m-m-my thing." Matthew managed to stutter out, before he stood up and fidgeted, face still beet-red.
How he wanted to run back to the dorm, climb into his bed and never come out.
So. Badly. [/blockquote]

Arthur blinked, honestly surprised when Matthew slapped himself. "Hey—" he began, but paused when Matthew began replacing the books at an admittedly admirable speed. "...There isn't any need to hit yourself."
Though... he supposed he understood. It was embarrassing to be caught at such an early stage, when one was just getting used to the world of carnal pleasure. Arthur was honestly glad that he'd be able to coach and lead Matthew through this; the boy deserved nothing short of the best guidance.
"In any case, if you don't really like the hardcore bondage things, that's alright; there's plenty more I'm sure you'd like," Arthur continued, standing up as well and taking the other's wrist. "I'll show you, come on. This is where they keep all their vanilla books," he explained, gesturing to the bookshelf they were standing in front of. Then, pointing to a few shelves, the Englishman continued, "Here's the straight couple section. Personally, I prefer... this one." Arthur then pointed at a black book with its title inscribed beautifully in gold, before pointing to a few shelves above it. "And here's the gay section." And of course, he couldn't resist pointing out a few of his favourites.
The process then repeated itself over and over again for every corner of the adult section. If Matthew was resisting or saying something in return, Arthur didn't quite hear him. He was too distracted by his own little tour.
"...Oh, and Matthew, you must read this magazine. Not only do they have gorgeous models, but they offer a free poster with each issue." Arthur turned to the Canadian, his smile just a bit teasing. "You can paste it up on your ceiling."

"W-wait!"
Too late. Even though he tried to protest in the beginning, Arthur began to lead him through the section. It was absolutely embarrassing how he was being dragged to the different divisions of this part of the store. Matthew never would have dreamed of coming anywhere near this area. And secretly, he wondered what Alfred would think if he knew about this...not like he was going to tell him or anything!
'Curiosity didn't kill the cat. It ended him up in the porn section of a store... [/i]' he sighed and thought to himself. Every which way he turned, he was introduced to something new. And really, he didn't know what to think. At first, he thought he could keep his calm. But, then he started talking about 'vanilla books', which confused him. What the heck did that even mean? Then there were the straight and gay book sections. He turned red when Arthur pointed to a book. Curiosity getting the better of him again, he picked it up and looked at it. He'd just have to go along with it, especially since Arthur was being 'nice' enough to show him around. There was just no way he could deny him his fun, especially looking at him. ' Well, Matthew Williams. I hope you learned your less---' his thought process cut off, he stared at the book. STARED at it. Slowly, the blood started going to his head again and he slammed it shut in embarrassment. WHAT HAD HE JUST SEEN? WHAT WAS THAT?! Shakily, he placed it back on the shelf, " ...Oh, and Matthew," the Canadian turned to his friend and just gaped at the magazine. And turned even redder at the poster comment. W-why would he want something like that? " O-okay, s-so..." he tried to collect his thoughts and ask questions, if only because he had bits of curiosity left or because he didn't want to insult his friend. " F-first off, what is a 'vanilla book'? D-does that mean it's just plain, no pictures? A-and why would I want to paste a poster on my ceiling?" Okay, maybe it was just out of pure curiosity.[/size][/blockquote]

Arthur blinked, and wondered if he'd heard correctly. Had... Matthew just asked him what a 'vanilla book 'was...? That would mean... that he was truly a newbie at this, and he was relying on Arthur to show him the ropes! The Englishman forced back a grin, and instead smiled at the other boy, honestly finding his embarassment utterly adorable. (It was so different from when Arthur himself had been exposed to such material, that he couldn't be just a little fascinated by it.)
"A vanilla book... or vanilla in general, is a term used to describe something that's conventional, not kinky... normal. Just some basic foreplay, normal sex... and so on and so forth," Arthur explained patiently, picking up the magazine he'd pointed out. He flipped through a few pages slowly, allowing Matthew to see what it contained — gorgeous male models, posing with the most seductive looks and covered only by a bedsheet wrapped around their vital regions. "And... well, I was joking about putting it up on your ceiling, but it's a lot easier than having it on your wall for when you want to have a little wank."
He then flipped through some more, finally reaching the free poster that laid inside. "Oh," he breathed, gingerly pulling it out and spreading it for Matthew to see. "This one's my favourite model. He's a rather attractive bloke, isn't he? He's American. He also inspired a novel..." Arthur trailed off, handing the magazine (with the poster attached) to Matthew before reaching for a novel nearby. "...this one. It's quite the read; I'd recommend it, if you're into the more forbidden relationships, like between a teacher and a student."

Matthew nodded, looking at the floor and just adverting his eyes from everything. His embarrassment had simmered somewhat as Arthur began going into detail. "Ah, I see..."
WAIT, WHAT?!
His face instantly shot up, staring at the Englishman in almost complete horror. 'He...d-did he just really. LALALA, NOT LISTENING! [/i]' When Arthur picked up the magazine to show him, Matthew almost immediately covered his eyes after the first few pictures. (Of course, he was peeking through his fingers. But, he wasn't going to admit it) Of course, Arthur was just making it worse, " Y-y-y-you. W-when I want to do WHAT, NOW?!" he was feeling dizzy, what was this! This was not happening, he was NOT hearing this! Matthew just sank, he was pretty sure that people in the store had heard his little outburst. It was still barely over a whisper, but Matthew felt himself getting more and more self-conscious the deeper they went into this little adventure. It was only when Arthur handed the magazine to Matthew that he uncovered his eyes and looked at the book (and poster full on.) The Canadian felt himself getting increasingly nervous and blushed furiously. There was no denying it, though. The American model was pretty attractive, surprisingly not fat. Next, he watched Arthur grab a novel. He had almost walked up to grab it, but stopped short when he started talking about the forbidden relationships. Instead, he just held the magazine tightly against his chest. Without the lack of his bear, trying to find something hide behind. ' W-what have I gotten myself into...' " T-they allow that in those books?! Isn't that illegal?"[/size][/blockquote]

Arthur chuckled. "You know. Wank. I do believe the more common term around here is 'masturbate', but... there's no need to get so vulgar with American terms," he said, putting the book back into its original place. "In regards to that topic, though, you really ought to see London when they hold wankthons. It's really fascinating. I still remember my first wankathon... but that's a story for another time."
The Englishman picked up another book, blinking a bit at the other's question. His eyes were nearly gleaming with amusement as he replied, "Heavens, no; these aren't actually teenagers and adults, you know. They're just models... pornography stars. Oh, but if that's more your thing, I recommend the books by this author." He held up the book in his hands, and handed it to Matthew as well. "She focuses mostly on love stories between a prison guard and his prisoner, but... sometimes, she dawdles on the angels and demons section, too. Her writing's quite beautiful; well enough to get most people off within the first few chapters, I hear."
He then moved on, taking Matthew's wrist and tugging him along to a completely different section, featuring the movies. "Next are the movies... but, after I show you through this, you absolutely must accompany me to the toy shop. There's plenty more to show you there, and..." Arthur paused, finally having the audacity to look a little embarrassed. "...If... Alfred has any preferences, perhaps you can... give him a little something... as a gift."

Matthew tried to hide his head, sinking it slightly into his hoodie like a turtle. His eyes and above now the only part visible. But, it was clear that he was still blushing like mad. "I-I know what it means! J-j-just.." he blurted out, unable to find the words to even describe his embarrassment now.
What was he going to do? Should he run?
No, Arthur is having too much of a good time. He didn't want to spoil that. But, on the other hand, this was just...too much.
...
He'd make a sacrifice for his friend.
Matthew almost let out a sigh of relief when Arthur mentioned that they weren't actually teenagers and adults involved in these relationships. It made it a little better, somehow. So, the Canadian continued to listen. And secretly, he might be starting to enjoy the idea...he did love reading, so maybe the novels would be as bad as the actual visual things.
"S-she's a good writer?" his interest was piqued a little and his head came out of the hoodie, still completely red, but a curiosity in his eyes.
Carefully, he held the book and looked at it. And really, it didn't look that bad. Maybe it was something that he could get into...just maybe. But the whole 'get most people off' worried him a little bit. He knew what it meant, but he was still just a bit interested. If only for the sake of reading. "I-I'm guessing you wouldn't find these at the library, w-would you?" he asked in a very small voice.
Matthew almost couldn't believe he was saying it, but yes, he was genuinely interested in the novel.
Yet again, he was pulled by the wrist towards a new section. And he couldn't believe what he was hearing. MOVIES?! Oh, nononononono. He remembered the last time Alfred and himself had stumbled upon a box of 'movies' that his father had stashed in an old box in a closet. He knew EXACTLY what kind of movies these were, but he was just so stunned that he couldn't object.
After a moment, Arthur paused and..was that a little embarrassment he saw? Arthur and being embarrassed? That didn't happen often and Matthew had to smile somewhat at that, but he had a question...
"...A-a toy shop? A-aren't we a little old for that? and what c-could you possibly show me there? I-I mean, I think I know what Alfred l-likes, but..." it was really baffling. First he was being shown around a porn section of a store, and now Arthur wanted to go to a toy store?
(In all honesty, Matthew should have known what Arthur was talking about. However, his lack of a friends circle really left him to fend for himself when finding out about these things.) [/blockquote]

Arthur chuckled. "Oh, of course you wouldn't find these at libraries. We are in the Mature section of the bookstore, after all."
It didn't even occur to him that Matthew was a Junior... and thus, a year younger than him. But even if it did, it wouldn't have mattered anyway. All teenagers dabbled in porn, and there always was that one research that proved that it was actually healthy for males to masturbate daily... or something like that.
But, moving on to the movies. There were several here that Arthur personally liked, but Matthew was being so shy about this that he couldn't really identify what the boy's preferences were. Perhaps he'd like the more dramatic, romantic, and sappy ones...? Or was Matthew one of those secretly intense types deep inside?
The Englishman kept his gaze on the DVDs, mostly out of embarrassment more than an actual search for some specific titles. But he couldn't back down now; not after Matthew just clarified that he knew what Alfred liked! (Not... that it really mattered, of course, but Alfred was just the first one that came to mind since... he was Matthew's brother.)
"Very funny, Matthew," Arthur finally replied, taking a DVD he'd watched just one month ago. (Because... surely, even Matthew knew what he was implying by toy shop. Surely.) "There's plenty of things I absolutely have to show you there. You'd be surprised, I think, by the variety of items they have. You'll like them, I'm certain. Now..." He held out the DVD for the other boy to inspect, continuing, "I saw this not too long ago, and... I think you'll like it. It's romantic."

"I-I'm being funny?" Matthew asked, tilting his head slightly.
He really didn't know what was so funny about what he had just said. Why were they going to a toy store after this? How were this bookstore and a toy store related? Guess he would be finding out soon. And really, Matthew had meant to go pick up a new video game that Alfred had wanted anyway. The Canadian hoped that they maybe had an electronics section within.
"There's plenty of things I absolutely have to show you there. You'd be surprised, I think, by the variety of items they have. You'll like them, I'm certain."
Ah, guess that meant that there was.
"S-sounds good!" he smiled and returned his attention to where Arthur was looking over a few titles.
For a moment, Matthew had forgotten what he was doing and where he was. His mind thinking about what could possibly be so exciting. He was snapped out of his thoughts, however, when a DVD was held out to him.
The boy took it with a hand an inspected it slightly before turning it around, the cover didn't look to suggestive, but he was aware that these things never really gave much to look at unless you opened them.
"I-I don't recognize any of these actors. A-are they not well known?" he asked before continuing to read the back.
Romantic? Matthew interest was piqued yet again. His face was still a faint pink color, but he was getting considerably less embarrassed when harmless looking objects were thrown his way. (Seemingly harmless, anyway. And in truth, he thought that maybe this would just be a common romance movie. Sex was nothing he wasn't used to seeing films nowadays, anyway.)
"I-if you think I'd like it, then y-you must be right." Matthew added.
The Canadian did think very highly of Arthur. He was always a voice of reason and knew when exactly what Matthew needed to hear, it seemed. Even if it was a bit blunt at times, Matthew had somehow come to the conclusion that most of things the Englishman said were true. [/blockquote]

"Well, you're definitely not going to see any of Hollywood's big-name stars in these films," Arthur replied, chuckling at the mere thought of it. "But yes, that one focuses more on the romance between two characters rather than the sexual aspects of their relationship. It reminds me a little of you and Sven, if I have to be honest."
The Englishman then moved on, browing a few more titles but finding that not a lot of them were really suitable to show Matthew (yet). In his mind, though, he made sure to pick out a few DVD's to recommend to the Canadian once the boy became comfortable with the more... hardcore things. (Would Matthew even be into bondage? He was shy, quiet, and afraid to speak his mind most of the time; it was either that he'd make one hell of dominant figure, or quite an adorable submissive one. Who knew?)
"In any case, we're done for today. Do you have any books or movies you'd like to buy? It'll be my treat," Arthur said, turning to Matthew with a small, encouraging smile.

"I-it does?" Matthew smiled a little bit and blushed a little more. Did that meantthat he might be able to learn something from it? The Canadian wasn't quite sure and he was even more unsure if Sven would enjoy it too. (After all, the two had never watched a movie together.)
He pondered for a moment before opening his mouth, staring at the back of the DVD intently.
"I-if that's the case, do--do you think that Sven might like it, too?" he inquired timidly, the red hue returning to his face. This was somewhat embarrassing to ask. After all, Sven was his boyfriend, not Arthur's. (Then again, Arthur was known to be somewhat close to Sven. So, maybe he did know a few things Matthew didn't.)
After, he returned his attention to the book from before. He was thoroughly interested in it, and maybe even the movie. But, of course he wasn't going to say that out loud. "I-I couldn't ask you to d-do that, Arthur!" Matthew blurted out.
Is this what an under-aged kid felt like when offered alcohol? Another thing to add to the list of things he was unsure about. "B-but, thank you..." he shook his head and smiled. Beginning to place the things back on the shelf; there was no way he could do it. [/blockquote]

"Hmm," Arthur droned, thinking about it. "I'm not quite sure. Sad to say, he's a little difficult to figure out." Nevertheless, he gave Matthew an encouraging smile. "But if you like it and want him to watch it with you, I'm certain that he'll, at the very least, enjoy your presence. You can have the entire night to yourselves to watch it; it'll be like a little at-home date."
The thought was, to be honest, adorable to Arthur. As a closet romantic, seeing two people so deeply attracted to each other enjoy the simple pleasures of life such as watching a simple movie just... made him happy, too. Now, if only he could do the same with Alfred... (Good thing he'd never get around to watching such a thing with Alfred. The American would probably be fully unable to appreciate the romance in the movie, and would act like an immature child when the protagonists made love. ...Not to mention, of course, Alfred would probably refuse, since he always seemed to have better things to do.)
But, that aside, he had more important things to address... such as widening Matthew's knowledge in the pleasures of the flesh. He moved to grab both the DVD and the book that the Canadian had shown interest in, and began walking straight towards the cash register. (The magazine he'd initially come for was, of course, also in his hand.)
"It's alright, Matthew," he reassured. "Consider it a thank you gift from me to you, even though it isn't much."
