Alfred had been on his way back to the dorms after a particularly exhausting day of school. It wasn't exhausting in itself, it was just exhausting because of how he was accidentally tormenting himself with his own assumptions lately. He didn't want to think about it, let alone talk about it, he just wanted to get it off his mind, and so, he eventually decided to take a detour through the central shopping area of the city.
He'd ventured around this area on numerous occasions to go to numerous stores that managed to catch his attention, but there was one particular store he always found himself coming back for. The candy shop, Sanada Sweets.
The American, as usual, was now peering through the window, his wide, owlish eyes overseeing the various candies set out for sale. The gummy bears, the chocolate bars, the jawbreakers. Excitement, the kind any child in the older teen's position would get, bubbled up in his chest.
.. But Matt had been scolding him every chance he had for the past few weeks about eating healthier. Heck, even Arthur had been every so often. Well, to be honest, they were more like insults about him being overweight than him saying he should take better care of himself, but still.
It.. couldn't really hurt, could it? If I just had some?
He licked his slightly chapped lips, throwing any hesitations along with the ridiculous idea of a diet out the window and finally running, literally running into the store, immediately heading for the giant rainbow lollipops in the back.

Natalia was at her wits end. How could she impress her Siastra if she had not seen her in a while? There had to be a way that she could let her Siastra know that she was thinking of her without actually being there, right? There lay the problem. She could not think of anything to do for her that she would enjoy…
She rolled over on her bed, eyeing the small chocolates she had been given on Valentine’s Day. She wrinkled her nose at them, disappointed that none of them had come from Ivanna. She should throw them out all ready. Valentines day was long passed. The chocolate was probably gross tasting anyway…
It was then that it hit her. Candy and flowers! Ivanna liked both of those things right? She could leave them in her room along with a card and then the other girl would know that she had not forgotten about her will to marry her! She shot up from her bed and readied herself as quickly as possible. Before long, Natalia was running out the door with every intention to buy her sister something nice.
She ran, carefully avoiding people as she went. She perked up a little upon spotting the candy store and quickened her pace. There was a strange boy staring in the window, but she figured that she didn’t have anything to worry about. He didn’t look like he was moving anytime soon…So she continued her sprint, eager to get in the shop and stare at all the delightful treats.
Fate had a different idea though…The boy suddenly began to run into the shop right as Natalia was about to arrive. The door opened and shut before the girl could stop herself. BAM! She barely knew what hit her as she stared up at the blindingly blue sky. This certainly was NOT what she had in mind. No, definitely not.

Obliviously, the American halted to a stop by the mentioned lollipops, his blue optics practically sparkling with delight as he pulled the largest one out from the jar.
It might strike someone else as silly, but Alfred loved candy like nothing else. Honest to goodness loved it. It made him feel like he was a little kid again, actually a little kid again, not just a kid on the inside. Memories of dragging Matt along in with him back home and just stuffing his face for an hour afterward always came back to him at times like this.
Smiling widely, he wandered over to the other aisle, quickly deciding on grabbing a few bags of sour gummy worms as well.

Natalia stared up at the sky for what felt like minutes to the girl. In actuality it had only been a few seconds, but she finally found it in herself to sit up. Her eyes narrowed and small hands rubbed at the back of her head. Yes, this was a…lapse in her fantasy. Stupid reality always had to get in the way of something good, didn’t it?
She pulled herself up, dusting off her dress with a mild huff. Now she was dirty. She would have to shower before going to find her Siastra! She wanted to look her best when she presented the treats to the other woman, so this most certainly would not do! She stared in at the boy who had caused her to fall and decided silently that she would make him pay for her humiliation and inconvenience.
Pulling the door open, she strutted in to promptly tap the other on the shoulder. When he turned around, he would be met with the face of a death goddess. She was pissed. He didn’t even stop to check if she was okay! He was a fat, candy sucking, rude bastard! That’s what he was. Natalia was going to correct that. Oh yes, she was.

Alfred, who had been fawning over the three packages of gummy worms he’d scouted out, blinked and looked up at a sudden tap to his shoulder. Upon turning, he found the one who had allegedly been trying to get his attention, a girl that, while looking vaguely familiar to him, looked completely and utterly enraged. Seeing the positively horrifying expression she wore, the blond couldn’t help but snap out of his candy induced daze.
Holy shi—
“Uh, hey there, li’l lady!” He greeted, flashing his most charming smile and trying to sound as casual as he could muster, what with being observed under the girl’s intense gaze. “Somethin’ wrong? You look..” He glanced down to the sugar coated treats in his hands, something misguided clicking in his mind before he looked back to the seething individual, laughing.
“Ohhh, haha! I get it! No worries! These aren’t the last ones, if that’s what you were thinking! There’s plenty more!” He assured her cheerfully.

Natalia was not pleased. No, not at all. She was even LESS than thrilled when the other turned around and called her ‘Li’l lady.’ Why, the nerve! He was even smiling at her like he had not done anything wrong! Her eyes narrowed even more and she placed her hand on her hip, the other being thrust in his face. “Da---“ She could barely get out her complaint before the boy was chattering on again.
Last ones? Last of what? She looked a little confused until she noticed the gummy worms in his hand. Huffing, she shook her head. “Nyet! Apologize to me this instant, you fool! You dirtied my dress with your carelessness! How could you not see me coming into the store?! Instead you…run on in like a kid on a sugar rush and don’t even check for other people! I could have been hurt!”
Oh. She hoped he cowered, because she was certainly puffing herself up to look more threatening. Truthfully, while her face was scary…seeing the girl trying to get taller by standing on her tiptoes was probably pretty comical.

Alfred’s ever overpowering grin faded when the girl suddenly began scolding him. His mouth dropped open slightly, for once, speechlessly, as she went on, all the while wearing an expression normally reserved for his nightmares and horror films he’d not exactly brave through on occasion.
Predictably, in turn, he looked horrified. Honest to goodness, he hadn’t been stricken with such intense, instant fear for a girl since he watched The Ring with Matt, but when he noticed she was on her tip toes, maybe in an attempt to look more intimidating, he had to stifle a laugh.
.. C-Cute.
The blond’s face was now twisting in his vain attempt not to laugh and—it was inevitable, after all—he finally did laugh. Grinning goofily, he reached out with his free hand and patted her on the head, having the sense to take just a bit of extra care to not muss up her hair. He’d learned the hard way that girls actually care about that when an eccentric student in his eighth grade class, who he later and far too late discovered was a black belt, grappled him and sent him slamming face first to the ground for doing so.
“Sorry, sorry!” Alfred apologized amidst his giggling, in reality, not even aware of what he’d done to make her so infuriated in the first place. “You can stop making that face now! A smile is a girl’s best feature, y’ know?” He went on. “Oh, I know what'll cheer you up! I’ll buy you some candy or something, okay?”

Natalia had been oblivious of his desire to laugh until he finally did. She scowled even more at him, clearly, CLEARLY…even more upset with him now. What the hell was he laughing at?! Did he think this was a joke!? Well, it wasn’t! she had been dead serious!!
However, it was not the fact that he laughed that finally made her crack. He had touched her. He TOUCHED her. Alfred barely had enough time to talk before he was met with a vicious jab to the rib cage.
“Do NOT touch me!!” She hissed, venom dripping from every word. He clearly had no respect for personal space! She was all ready in an unpleasant mood. The American’s cheerful and carefree approach to it had only fueled the fire. His half hearted apology also did not set well this her.

When the girl’s sour expression only seemed to intensify, Alfred, more than a little surprised and confused, drew his hand back. He eyed her curiously, cocking his head to the side as he did so. If candy didn’t cheer her up, what would?
After a brief moment of not so much logic or thought, his smile returned at full force and he immediately launched into yet another one of his tangents.
“Oh, maybe you don’t like candy as much? I mean, you’re in a candy shop and everything, but whatever. Oooh, I know! Do you maybe like ice cream? ‘Cause after this, I was gonna’ go—”
The American had initially expected her to retaliate to his unfinished offer with more scolding, or maybe just continue to scowl. He even figured she’d go as far as to walk away from him altogether, and, it was a bit of a stretch, but there was also a slight possibility that she would give in to his devilish good looks and agree to get ice cream with him, or at least let him buy her a lollypop or chocolate bar, or something along those lines. Anyway, what he definitely didn’t expect was her sudden and rather harsh stab to his ribs.
In the sheer shock, he doubled over, dropping his gummy worms, some sort of choking sound escaping him as his knees hit the ground. After a brief moment for the sake of recovery, he looked up to her, eyes wide.
“D-Dude.. what the heck was that for?!” The blond demanded, his attempt at a glare ultimately looking more like the pout of a child whose mom wouldn't buy them cotton candy at a fair.

Natalia gritted her teeth down at the obnoxious blonde. She just TOLD him what he did and he had to ask again? What an annoyance! Why did she have to run into this when it was looking to be such a promising day? She only wanted to get some candies for her brother! Was that so much to ask? Apparently so.
“I said because you touched me, you dolt!” She repeated again, still holding that vicious tinge to her voice. She did not want some strange man to touch her after all, was that so hard to understand? Oh, he must be slow. That had to be it. She couldn’t think of any other reason.
She had not even considered his offer to take her to get ice cream. She just continued to glare down at him, before she remembered her initial goal. “Now apologize for hitting me with the door, stupid boy!”
((...I had no idea you replied. I am sorry. D: ))

Alfred had initially been about to snap back at her, but he thought better of it. If she was crazy enough to suddenly jab him like that, God knows what else she would do. He really didn’t want to get into a physical fight with a girl, in a candy store, of all places. Not that he was scared, or anything, it was just that she was a girl. He couldn’t bring himself to hit a girl.
Besides, even if she would be the only one getting physical, he’d have no choice but to restrain her somehow, and that’d look bad on his end. She’d probably feign crying out and shouting to everyone in the vicinity that he was attacking her, or something.
Frowning deeply, the American was about to form some kind of reply, maybe something sarcastic to lighten the mood, like, “Am I that hideous?”, then caught himself as she began to speak a second time.
“I.. hit you with the door?” Alfred inquired blankly, staring up at her with wide, blinking eyes.
((It’s okay! No worries~. <3))
