Vash waited on a bench in the courtyard of the school, the best place to start a tour of the academy, he decided. Why he was stuck with the task of showing the new girl around, however, he really had no idea. That seemed like something for the secretary to do, maybe even the VP if she was lucky, but hardly the work for the treasurer. Especially when said treasurer was rather anti-social. Because of the way he had been treated in his previous school, he tended not to trust many people and didn't like to make friends. To him, they would all inevitably stab him in the back. And so he found it easier to just avoid people and keep to himself, often staying in his room and sitting in the front of all of his classes where no one dared to bother him so close to the teacher. In fact the only time he ever really spoke up was during student council meetings, where he would often over step his boundaries as just a treasurer and act more like the vice president. Either way he made people listen to his "two cents" as it were before gladly going back to his regular duties. Despite his small frame, he could be very loud.
Vash sighed and looked around at the people passing by. He was never much of a people watcher, but at that moment he really had no other choice. Arthur had taken away the bag he would often carry with him that bad books and a notebook in it, as the Swiss boy would often use those books to avoid talking to people. However this time the point was to talk to the new girl and not avoid her, as doing so would give the student council - and apparently the entire school - a bad name. Truly it annoyed Vash to no end to have other people know his habits and use that knowledge to their advantage; that was what he usually did and didn't like having that strategy used against him. Either way no matter how ticked he happened to be, he couldn't get out of the situation anyway. Most people would decide to just make the best of it since it was inevitable anyway, but not Vash. He wasn't going to let Arthur hear the end of it if the tour ended up going wrong.
Though to him, "wrong" could be as simple as the person he'd been stuck with talking too much. Questions he didn't mind, but mindless chattering about nothing he simply could not stand. In Vash's mind he kind of knew that a girl most likely wouldn't do that, let alone a freshman, but unfortunately he's been "programmed" to expect the worst in any situation. He just hoped his instinct would be wrong this time. And so Vash went back to people watching, trying to perhaps find the girl he was supposed to be showing around before she saw him. Only problem? He had no idea what she looked like.

Sisia was both nervous, and excited, at the same time. Excited, because, well, she would be getting a tour of a school! Her first school! Technically, she had gone to school for a little bit in like kindergarten, but the girl didn’t count that, as she couldn’t remember it at all. Thus, because of that fact, she was also nervous, because this was her first school. The Liechtensteiner could just imagine all of the different ways this could go wrong, so she was very thankful that there had been a tour arranged for her. It would make it harder to get lost, though she didn’t doubt that she would, having not gone out much alone, almost always having her Uncle with her, who always had an impeccable sense of direction.
Fingering her purse, thrown over her shoulder, the dress-clad girl reminded herself that she had all of her medicine in there, just in case something went wrong. Hopefully, it wouldn’t, and the very worst that would happen was that she’d have to use her inhaler, but Sisia worried quite a bit about it, not wanting to be unprepared and have her Uncle use that as an excuse to pull her out of school. Exhaling, in an attempt to calm herself, she looked about the courtyard, where she was supposed to meet her guide. The only thing she knew was that he was a part of the student council, and male, which truly didn’t give her much to go on… Feeling out of place, as her uniform was being modified so that she could carry her injector around in an easy to reach pocket, Sisia tried to spot who he might be, which was a harder task than she thought it would be.
Most of the people in the courtyard, at least, the ones that weren’t just passing through, were gathered in clumps, talking, whether they were sitting or standing. Her guide would probably not be with a bunch of people, right? Looking specifically for a boy sitting alone, Sisia’s eyes flitted over the area, alighting upon a boy who appeared to have the same haircut as herself, oddly enough. Or, about the same, she couldn’t really tell from the distance between them. It seemed as if he were looking over the courtyard for someone, as well (though he could be people-watching, or waiting for someone different…), so maybe he was the one? Her guide?
Deciding to go over there and ask, as it really couldn’t hurt, the Liechtensteiner made her way through the courtyard, careful not to get too close to anyone, as she didn’t want to be jostled nor get in their way, whether they were staying in the same place or not. Approaching the boy, who didn’t exactly seem to be in the best of moods, she spoke up questioningly, ever conscious of her horrible accent. ”A-Ah, I ahm new, vould you hahppen to be my guide?” Sisia asked, her eyes immediately fluttering down to look at her feet as she finished speaking. She rather hoped so, as it wouldn’t be fun if the other person wasn’t… That would be very embarrassing.

After just a bit more people watching Vash soon noticed a smaller girl who definitely looked out of place considering she didn't have her uniform yet. It wasn't really a surprise, she was brand new after all and coming in to the school year after the entrance ceremony. No doubt she didn't really know anyone either; did that mean he could potentially be her first friend? Even Vash himself wouldn't do that to anybody as he knew more than anybody how much of a temper he had, not to mention his high standards. But thinking about it just made him even more self conscious than usual. If Arthur truly wanted someone to make a good first impression on the girl and represent the school, he most definitely made the wrong choice.
Vash quickly looked away when the girl glanced over to him, pretending to look at someone else. With any luck she wouldn't see him at all and would have to go back to the student council office to get Arthur to tour her around. That is, if she could find it...and the Swiss boy finally started to think of her instead of his own selfish need to keep anyone from getting close to him. If she didn't have a guide she really would be lost and confused. Maybe she would accidentally run into some bullies while asking for directions and end up with the wrong crowd, or worse. She might leave the school and have to transfer and move all over again just because he didn't think he could be a good guide or make a new friend for the first time in years.
Vash shook his head to get rid of those horrible thoughts, but once he stopped and opened his eyes he noticed pink fabric in front of him. He blinked only once in confusion before trailing his vision up and meeting with the face of the very girl he spotted earlier. He jumped a bit but tried not to show it and quickly regained his composure as she spoke. Her voice was soft, very nice and warm, and she had an accent that was all too familiar to him; after all, he had the same one. "A-Ah, ja, I ahm your guide," he was finally able to answer, standing and straightening his uniform. "Mein n - I mean, my name ist Vash." He still didn't notice that he slipped back into German for a moment. "Vat ist your name?" No, he wasn't given her name either. Really it was a miracle they even found each other.

Her eyes shot up from her feet, surprised, as she heard him speak in such a familiar way. Ah, he spoke German, as well! Immediately feeling less self-concious – after all, they spoke with the same accent, so why should she feel weird about it?- the girl listened to him speak, a bright smile appearing on her face. ”I ahm Sisia Vogel, it ist ah pleasyere to meet you!” she told the other, delighted. Honestly, she was tempted to slip into German, as it was obvious it was his language, as well, but it would feel kind of odd, seeing as they had just met. So, no, she wouldn’t, but perhaps another time? Even if speaking in German would make her slightly homesick for Uncle, it would be worth it, especially because Vash would probably like it, too. Or maybe not, she wasn’t too good at reading people…
Cheerful, and rather liking her guide, Sisia stuck out her hand, grinning at him. ”I hope ve cahn become gut friends, Vash!” It would be quite nice to have another friend, even if, honestly, she wasn’t sure how to go about making one. Her experiences were limited to her old childhood friend, and to ‘Switzy’, neither of which were normal relationships, considering one was completely of letters, and the other was a one year friendship of an odd boy befriending an invisible girl. So, no, she was quite naïve at this, but being nice would probably not hurt, would it? Not like she wouldn’t be nice, even if she wasn’t trying to become friends, but still.
Taking the time to – without being overly obvious, at least, trying to not be- observe her guide, Sisia was quite happy with what she stored away. He was being very polite, and nice, and had waited out here in the crowded courtyard for her! Being able to talk her native language with him, hopefully soon, was a point in his favor, and the fact that the girl did really want a friend made her overlook anything odd… Which, honestly, she hadn’t seen yet. Considering that her penpal liked guns, though, she just might be immune to scary/odd things about people. That would be quite nice, honestly, even if Vash didn’t seem to display anything intimidating. He seemed really really nice!
